The Daily Tay's Best Week Ever

Each Friday that arrives brings us one day closer to spring, and one day closer to summer.
I like the idea of waking up to scorching temperatures once again while the sun shines
in through every window by 6:00 a.m.
Yes, that sounds very nice to me right about now.
At the moment, we’ll just have to make do with what we have.
So if that means making the most out of every week so be it.
That being said, it’s officially time for another edition of
The Daily Tay‘s Best Week Ever.

First and foremost we’ve got the
  hot messes
from the Bachelor really making a strong appearance this week.

I’m not sure where they cast for this show,
but I have a feeling it’s in a dark alley behind a Wet Seal.
But I swear I’m not judging.
If someone video taped me after six hours of unlimited free wine
I’d probably be doing back bends in a wedding dress falling down the stairs, as well.
Then again, no I wouldn't.

Speaking of hot messes, rumor on the Facebook street is that
Destiny’s Child is getting back together.
Proving they truly are survivors.

And middle school girls from 1999 are rejoicing everywhere!
As soon as I heard this I dug my Charlie’s Angel CD out of my purple caboodle
and instantly started jamming out!
When asked about this, Farrah Franklin's response was
"what reunion?"
and then she went back to rehearsing with The Cheetah Girls.

This week is also celery’s time to shine.

I’ve never seen so many people girls eating celery sticks from a bag,
trying to pretend they’re actually enjoying them, than I have this week.
I even bought celery.
I haven’t eaten it, but it’s in my bottom drawer. (With six other bags of soggy celery.)
I just need someone to come over and cut it up for me and then slather it in peanut butter.
I’ll also eat it dipped in a bloody mary, as well.
Basically as long as I can no longer taste the celery stick itself, I might eat it.

And then we’ve got this girl making us all feel horrible about our own lives.
Quvenzhane Wallis.
Or as I call her, Quincy McCall.
At only nine years old, she is the youngest girl ever to be nominated for an Oscar
for her role in Beasts of the Southern Wild.
What were you doing when you were nine?

I was obviously trying to turn myself into an actual sunflower.
Thanks Limited Too for making my dreams come true!

But by far, the one thing that is really having the best week ever is
TV.

So much goodness is coming from my TV this week.
It's a good thing I've officially gone into my winter hibernation mode so I can fully enjoy it all!
Girls starts tomorrow on HBO, so does Shameless and Californication on Showtime.
And then there’s The Bachelor, and Brandi running amuck on RHBH
I’d like to pretend I didn’t watch Vanderpump Rules, but I think I might have.
That Stassi is just so nasty I kinda love her.
However I still think it's an awful show full of awful fame seeking LA people.
But yes, I might still watch it again.

And that's all I've got for this week.
Have a great weekend, I know I will.
As always,
keep it classy, San Diego.

  1. Hell yeah you little sunflower, you! Pretty sure I had that EXACT same outfit. No shame.
And truth be told- I love the crazy hot messes that grace reality tv with their presence. Makes me feel better about my hot mess self. Cannot wait to see what Saint Sean does this season!

  2. The one and only place that celery belongs is next to an olive, anchored in a bloody mary.

  8. I LOVE the sunflower outfit. I'm probably more excited than I should be about Destiny's Child. It was the first CD I owned and I knew every word to every song.

  9. i'm not sure how anyone, guy or girl, can't love "girls". lena dunham is my idol! i'm an engineer, but still... she's a pretty awesome chick to have her name blasted over every title in the credits!

  10. It was sneaky how they just had RHBH fade into Vanderpump Rules. All of a sudden, I was like, wait, this is a different show? Totally sucked me in and I also have a feeling my DVR has one more show coming to clog it up. PS so excited for Shameless to start!

    Have a great weekend! :)

  15. I wanted to punch Stassi right in the nose. She is definitely the type to chomp on celery sticks.

  16. I am so excited for this season of the Bachelor - them girls be crazy! But at least with reality TV crazy = entertaining.
I can't eat raw celery by itself, but lathered in peanut butter is good, just chew fast. My favorite way to eat celery is cooked in homemade chicken noodle soup!
    Love the sunflower outfit!

  18. I just wanted to let you know that I snorted coffee when I read "I was obviously trying to turn myself into an actual sunflower."

My mom tried to do the same thing to me.

  19. Ohh the sunflower rage, loved it. I always thought celery was just a funky tasting spoon for ranch and peanut butter.

  20. is it ok that i am still excited about Destiny's child. I may have the mindset of a 9 year old. Hence why i watch reality tv and still dress in limited too clothing. if only that stuff still fit me.

  21. I just love your "best week ever" posts!!! I busted out laughing when I read the sunflower thing!

  22. Celery. Bleh.
We always had cream cheese covered celery at holidays growing up and I'm convinced that's just about the only way it's edible. (And even then my sister would just lick out the cream cheese.)
I think we should all stop pretending its good.

  23. Oh how I loved Limited Too. I remember throwing a full fledged tantrum when my mom proposed I go back to school shopping somewhere else. The horror!

  24. Great post! I am glad I'm not the only one with 6 bags of soggy celery in my bottom drawer :)

  25. I swear to you, I had those same shorts when I was 5.

  26. I rocked the shit out of my sunflower outfit until a seagull took an actual shit on it one day. I have two theories 1)It was so horrendous that the seagull shit on it or 2)The seagull was jeaous. Clearly the 2nd theory is more realistic.

  27. I never watched The Bachelor until this season. I think I picked a great time to get on that wagon...:)

  28. Can't wait for the Girls premiere, it totally makes up for having to eat celery sticks because it's January and that's what people do in January.

  29. I'm pretty sure I had that hat...and I just threw away my purple Caboodle after a long relationship with it.

  32. Hey, I'll admit it, I got so pumped about the Destiny's Child reunion when I heard. Also, I think I rocked Limited Too 6 out of every 7 days a week. ;)

  33. Aww Limited Too. I was the poor kid whose mom sewed all her outfits through 4th grade so the closest I came to that fabulousness was my mom using left over material to make a fabric-covered headband or scrunchie.

  34. SO weird but I was saying the same thing about celery at work today! and ofcourse it was the snack of the day (seriously.) for the kids at my after school program, and they kept asking me if i had anymore in the fridge? really?! who likes to eat that much celerey?

    ReplyDelete
  35. for real, your blog makes me laugh out loud. I get pumped when I see you have a new post. PS people who eat celery are fakers, I know they are fantasizing about ranch dressing and peanut butter when they eat it.

    ReplyDelete
  36. lmao. two things in this post made me literally LOL. "caboodle" and the celery someecard. i also have a real problem with buying celery and then not eating it. i figure if you dip it in blue cheese (or my fave, ranch) then the calories cancel each other out though...amiright?
