10 Quick Facts

It has come to my attention I might have a few more followers around here as of late.
I am obviously thrilled, but can't figure out the reason for the sudden spike.
Everyone must just be in a good mood because of Valentine's Day I suppose.
Or it could have something to do with that $1500 giveaway. One shall never know.

Regardless, I feel a certain pressure now to perform like a tap dancing monkey in a Spanish circus
in hopes you'll all actually stay around for more than a day or two.
Luckily for me, I am trained in both tap dancing and monkey circus performances.
And those are just two facts about me, here are ten more.

1. I took the stage for the first time last week for a very quick improv performance
at the Second City where I take classes.
I tanked.
I'll do better next time, like Aaliyah (RIP) said,
If at first you don't succeed, dust yourself off and try again.

2. I gave up sweets for lent.
But since the Pope recently gave up his job for lent,
I feel like I should commit to something a little stronger.

3. Harlow did not give up bones.
Maybe next year.

4. I love Doritos, beef jerky, and scratch tickets
just as much as the next person.

5. Chris and I have lived in five different apartments in the past two years.
We just can't seem to settle on a dishwasher we like.

6. I'm super OCD about three things.
1. making sure I remembered my keys.
2. Turning off the stove/blowing out candles.
3. Not dropping my phone.
Luckily, I've never burnt down a house and have only broken eight iphone screens.

7. I get told I look like someone at least once a day.
Not anyone cool or famous, just someone.
Like your cousin's girlfriend, or someone your husband hated from high school,
or that girl you recognize but just can't remember how exactly.
That's me.

8. My drink of choice tonight will be a Moscow Mule.

9. I wanted desperately to be a child actor.

Home Alone 3 did castings at a mall near my hometown and my mom took me to audition,
I didn't get the part.
Really dodged a bullet on that one I now know.

10. Speaking of, The Home Alone house is less than forty five minutes from where I live,
so naturally I drive there at least a few times a year.
This thrill is yet to wear off.

Now we're going to play my favorite game.
Guess Who
(blogger styley)
See if you can match the description of the girl/blog to her photo!

A. She's a California beach girl who keeps it real & doesn't wash her hair...
with a huge passion for fashion.

B. A southern girl that has too many pretend weddings planned on Pinterest,
cluelessly uses her DSLR solely to take pictures of her cat, dreams of traveling the world with her main squeeze, and could eat pizza lunchables morning, noon, and night.

C. She lives in the middle of nowhere, is addicted to online shopping and once almost caught her hair on fire while trying to read and blow dry at the same time.

D. She loves the outdoors, idolizes Lena Dunham,
and wishes she could survive on cereal and extra-spicy Bloody Marys!

E. She is getting married this October, recently went paleo (no grains, refined sugars or dairy...
fun stuff) and thinks that people who "aren't pet people" must have never met my dog, McCoy.

F. She lives in Annapolis and is addicted to coffee, blogging, spinning, and white strips.
 In that order.

  13. I get "are you related to so-and-so?" or "you look so familiar" or "you look like my daughter's best friend" on a regular basis, too. I'm not sure what people expect me to do with that, nor have I figured out a proper response. "That's nice"? "Is she pretty, too?"? "Oh, but I have a much better personality."?

  14. Look at me reading and commenting within less than 24h. I can do this!!

That's THE Home Alone house. The real one. The one in the movie.

I AM SO JEALOUS! When I was a kid I wanted that house, or one like it.
Do a drive by for me please!

  16. I knew I could count on you loving scratch tickets, beef jerky and doritos. I think it comes with the territory of growing up Nebraskin' where gas stations are meccas. If I find a Casey's while on a road trip, I instantly feel at home.

LOVE the sponsor feature, so fun!!

  17. I wish I could give up my job for lent.. Haha! I seriously love that picture of Harlow, the bone might disappear if he doesn't stare it down! Love all the fun facts :D

  18. Like the Pope, I also gave up my job for lent. Unlike him, I also gave up bread and start a new job on Monday. And I have the opposite problem- rather than "you look like someone" I get this- Them: "Hi, I don't think we've met..." Me: "Erm, yeah, we've met like six times". I have a very forgettable face. Sad times.

  19. I can't think of anything better than Doritos and an ice cold Diet Mt. Dew in a can. You do look like someone ... but I haven't figured it out yet. Nice way to intro. sponsors, btw. :)

  20. I so wish I could take improv classes at 2nd city! I'm in love with Tina Fey, so naturally, when I heard she took classes there, I of course felt the need to at least see the place!
