Do You Cartwheel? +$1000 to Target


My mom came back to Chicago with me for a few days this week because she wanted to watch me do some stand-up. But I think it was also because she wanted to experience Chicago’s polar vortex for herself. I guess she just wanted to see what all of the fuss was about.

Yesterday morning we woke up and my front door was basically frozen shut and the windchill was almost below 30 degrees so I looked at her and said “so you ready to head downtown?” For those of you who don’t know, downtown Chicago is always at least ten degrees colder because of the lake effect. She shook her head no. So what do you do when it’s too freezing to go anywhere at all? Well we went to Target, of course. And I introduced my mom to the one app that will change her life when it comes to future trips to Target: the Cartwheel app.

Do you Cartwheel when you shop at Target? If you don’t, you should. At any given time there are more than 700 coupons being offered on Cartwheel. You can use your Iphone, Droid or tablet and simply scan barcodes on products anywhere in the store and find out if there is an offer on Cartwheel. Just last week I used the app to find discounts on a scarf I loved, a new hat and even some treats for Harlow. It’s truly as simple as it sounds. And the fun part is you can earn badges to open more spots on some of your Cartwheel lists. It’s like being rewarded for shopping and saving at one of my favorite stores.

There are even some multi use offers where shoppers are able to use any offer on their list as many times as they wish until the offer expires, with the following exceptions: limit of 4 items per offer, per transaction; limit of 6 Cartwheel scans per day. So, if there was an offer for 10% off 20 ounce bottles of Diet Coke, a shopper could purchase 4 bottles of Diet Coke in one transaction and the offer discount would be applied to all 4 bottles of Diet Coke. That same shopper could do this up to 6 times in one day, for a total of 24 bottles of Diet Coke. And that is a lot of Diet Coke.

    I downloaded the app a couple months ago but I'm yet to use it in the store. I was playing around with it last night and it wouldn't allow me to add more than 10 coupons…Are you only allowed to add 10 coupons at a time?

    So I LOVE reading your blog and LOVE Target Cartwheel! It is super easy! Did you know that you can also print coupons from their website and use them in addition to Cartwheel? You can also throw a manufacturer's coupon (from the newspaper or coupons.com) in on top of that too for triple savings. So for simplicity's sake, let's say you wanted to buy Oreos. If there is a Target cartwheel for that, a coupon on Target.com for Oreos, and a coupon in the paper for Oreos, you can use ALL THREE coupons on ONE box of Oreos. If you use your Target Red Card you also automagically save 5% too. Pretty amazing if you ask me. I heard Oreos are calorie free if you buy them with coupons 🙂

    I have tried cartwheel a couple of times. It's super easy if you plan ahead and pick the coupons you need. I always forget until I am in the checkout line. Awesome app though!

    i absolutely LOVE cartwheel. i've been using it for a while now and it's so easy! just the other day, i got an email that said for one day only all c9 apparel was like 40% off. i jumped on that and my husband and i ran to the store and got a whole bunch of new workout gear, including a new pair of shoes for me!

    i use it every single time i go to the store. i just found out about the whole scanning part of it, and it's SO MUCH EASIER than how i had been searching for items before. LOVE IT.

    I love this app! I use it every time I go to Target now! Even though sometimes the savings can be small… it still adds up! Plus sometimes there are discounts that are on things that are already discounted, so you get big savings.

    I had to break up with Target, since hackers broke into their database and I had to get a new credit card, change all my auto pay information and now they might have my email, phone number and address. It is a huge pain and I really think all these businesses that are being hacked need to do a better job with their software to avoid this.

    I cartwheel all the time!! I will pick coupons out for the stuff I know I have to get (detergent, dogfood, toilet paper) then scan the extra stuff I pick up along the way! bc that ALWAYS happens in Target!

    Cartwheeling through Target on State almost weekly……..twice a week…….ok daily. There I love Target! Use Mobile Coupons via Target and Cartwheel and you save tons! That is how I support my Sunday Brunch Fix.
