St. Patricks Day in Chicago

I’m having one of those I heart Chicago days. I had to meet a client downtown this morning and the sun was shining, the temps were above forty, and there was a certain lightness in the air. It just felt good to be outside for the first time after a very very long winter.

And as I crossed the street at Clark and Washington I noticed the fountains were filled with bright green water.

This means two things. Water is back in the fountains again! Yay, spring is really here! And two, St. Patrick’s Day weekend has graced us once again. Let the shenanigans begin. Chances are you’ve spent a St. Pats in Chicago before, I feel like everyone has. But if you haven’t, I highly recommend doing so at least once in your life. The city goes all out with parades, pub crawls, and of course there’s the dying of the river.

Chicago pretty much goes into party mode. And from what I’ve heard, this party starts tomorrow morning. Chris and I have great intentions of getting up early to head to a friend’s house who lives by the river to start the Saturday with a bang. But we shall see… Getting up early to drink always sounds better than it actually is. I’d be okay with easing into the day, as well. I’m not twenty-two anymore, I need to have my coffee and eggs before I do anything.

One thing is for certain however, green pants will be worn tomorrow. And most likely this exact same necklace.

Tomorrow is the one day of year Harlow gets to drink a bowl of green beer (a small bowl, I’m not that white trash) and he absolutely loves it. Does anyone else’s dog go nuts over beer? Or is Harlow the only booze hound?

Anyway guys, that’s all I’ve got for today. Follow along with all of the St. Patricks Day fun on instagram this weekend @taylorgracewolfe.

Floyd loves it too! He had Bowser Beer (which I'm pretty sure is just a $5 bottle of beef broth) on NYE and lapped it right up.

Does Harlow's nose turn green when he's drinking his green beer? That must be adorable & I will definitely watch for a picture šŸ™‚ Have a lovely green weekend and enjoy the "spring" weather! šŸ˜‰

My fiance had a dog with his old roommate and they would let her finish bottles of beer if she was good. She became such a snob too- always had to be a good beer with lots of hops. She was a weird one.

Hawkeye comes running when she hears the beer tab pop open. She will not do it for pop. She knows which is the beer sound! And she definitely will not drink fake dog beer. She's a booze hound for sure.

My Vizla is true to her name. Vino. She looooooves wine. And an alcohol. If you're holding a wine glass or beer bottle, she sits in front of you, huffing and puffing, moaning and groaning, and whining for some. (And this or may not be because I share with her…often)

I was just in Chicago over st pattys day but unfortunately it was for a funeral and on the south side so I never made it downtown šŸ™ I am still pretty bummed about it. Next year I will just have to go back!
