3 Million Views

This week I finally hit three million views on this little blog.

What an honor. What an accomplishment. What a joy.

I have so many people to thank for this I’m not sure where to even start? Perhaps with my mom since I’m pretty sure she accounts for half of these views. So thanks, mom.

And then a big shoutout to Chris, as well. I know he’s clicked on this site at least twenty times in the past three years. So thank you, Chris. Your support means the world to me.

Let’s see who else… I’d also like to thank that terrible manager I had years ago back in Lincoln. After all, you’re the reason I started this blog. Thanks for writing me emails saying things like “your lunch break is over, please get off Facebook” and “that candle you have burning is too strong, take it home,” even though you sat literally ten feet away from me. Your snarky condescending requests really left a mark on me.

And thank you to everyone in Kansas City who wasn’t friends with me! It was because of you I continued this blog after I left Lincoln and embarked on my first adult job in the real world. If I would have had friends back then who knows what might have happened? Maybe I would have learned to socialize with the real world and not just the online world. Yikes! That sounds awful.

Speaking of awful, I can’t forget all of my lovely high school students I cooked for back when I recruited for a culinary school. Topeka and Wichita teenagers, you tried to break me, but in the end I broke you. I certainly did. Thanks for saying terribly stupid things to me, it made for great blog material.

And Chicago. Sweet sweet Chicago.

The jobs I left at lunch. The jobs that have left me at lunch. Look at this wild road we’ve been on! Each and every day you’ve given me something to write about and one more day when I thought to myself, Okay I guess I can blog just once more

Second City, iO, every other theater who’s rejected me, I thank you! Thank you for not putting me on a house team or casting me in a show, all that performing would take away from blogging! And we just can’t have that, now can we. Nope… keep the rejection coming. Me and my blog love it!

I know big bloggers get to three million views in like a month. But not this old girl. It’s taken me nearly 22 years but that’s okay with me. Slow and steady wins the race. Pretty sure that phrase makes zero sense but let’s go with it.

And with that being said, I’d like to announce my retirement from blogging today. It’s been a fun ride, but it’s time to move on to other things. It’s time to grow up and get a stable job. I’ve thought a lot about this and I… I can’t even finish this sentence. I’m obviously joking. I’ll never quit blogging. I’ll be here until the very end. What else would I do? Live a real life off my computer and give up all the cool freebies? Ha. Good one.

On that note, I sincerely want to thank those of you who stop by and read my ramblings each and every day. It truly means a lot to me. And for those of you who don’t read every day, I know who you are. Let’s pick up the pace a little, okay? I’d like to get to four million before I’m fifty.
