She Licked A Doughnut

I was in the midst of writing a very intelligent, very well written, life changing post when I suddenly I saw a headline that said Ariana Granda licked a doughnut and I thought oh hell no.

Hell. No.

I don’t know much about this “Ariana Grande” character. And I put her name in quotes because I still question as to whether she’s a real person or not. I have a sneaking suspicion she’s just a Disney cartoon character come to life. Or a Bratz doll.

If you haven’t read the story, Grande was caught on tape licking doughnuts set out at a bakery and then laughing like a maniac and saying “I hate America. I hate Americans….”

This is the same girl who last summer was caught on a camera phone in an elevator saying “I hope all of my fans burn in a fire.” In fact, here’s a direct quote from Grande, “There was a stage, when I was 3 or 4, where my mom thought I might grow up to be a serial killer.”

Get out. No seriously, little girl. GET OUT. As Jake would say, what a garbage person.

And yet she has millions of adoring fans all over the world. Young fans. Fans who see this little brat licking doughnuts and laughing like a serial killer and think, that’s neat I want to be an awful person too.

I understand that this whole “licking a doughnut” thing is really getting blown up. But I think it’s because it’s more than just the act itself. It’s the fact that she’s an arrogant, spoiled child (although she’s actually 22, that’s the age when you’re old enough to start being a good person) who thinks the rules don’t apply. She’s continually rewarded for being … an asshole. That’s the only way I can think to put it.

I hate that we live in a society where terrible people are celebrated. Where someone like Grande is a millionaire walking around this world stepping on anyone she can, simply because she can. All while countless other (nameless people) spend their days and life savings trying to help others. Help homeless children. Sick adults. And the animals. All the freaken animals.

I can’t go on this tyrant now. It could last for days. It’s the way our world has always been and probably always will be.

This girl is usually not on my radar, she just happened to be today because I’m an advocate for baked goods. And I’m going to keep her off my radar. I’m guilty of idolizing celebrities, but I am careful as to which ones I do. I look up to the people who are doing good work, both in their career and in other ways that are making the world better. Grande may be a good singer, but she’s such an ugly person I can’t seem to hear it.

All in all, I kind of hate that this is a news story right now. And I also hate that I just wrote an entire blog post about it. I’m going to go crawl back into my hole now.

And to think this all started because she licked a doughnut. I just can’t stand to see people waste food. It’s sick.

Ha! This made me laugh – and I totally agree with you. It's scary who kids look up to these days – usually because they're kids themselves, who make millions and billions of dollars, and no one was ever around to tell them no..so they do whatever they want. AND we live in a world of cameras – I'm always annoyed when a celebrity does something they shouldn't and then is flabbergasted when someone posts it! Of course they're going to post it!

I genuinely could go on this rant with you as well..but I won't. I guess I have to go find my own hole now..lol.

I have read horror stories about her and she is too much. Talk about letting the fame go straight to her head!

  3. July 9, 2015 / 11:53 am

PREACH. We were just talking about this topic of celebrating awful celebrities at work this morning. have you seen Miley Cyrus's recent Instagram posts? So inappropriate. These are not the people I want my 15 year old sister idolizing.

She's a twat, a diva and horrible to her fans. There have been countless stories about her rude behavior. At this point, I have to assume they're all true. She actually has a fantastic voice. Why can't she just utilize that and be grateful? Ugh.

She is a waste of space and I wish she would just curl up in a hole and die from poisoning from all that dye she puts in her hair.

  6. July 9, 2015 / 12:14 pm

Apparently she licked the donut, and then didn't even buy any freaking donuts. That is enough of an offense.

Seriously, I'm glad you wrote this because I watched the video last night just sat here appalled. What a little bitch. Not only is that disgusting, but the way she asked the cashier so rudely "what the fuck is that?" YOUR IN A DONUT SHOP YOU AIRHEAD! WTF DO YOU THINK IT IS!?? It just speaks huge about her character treating people that way. I never liked her anyways after I heard she makes her staff physically carry her around. And when there was a supposed nude photo of her, and her quote denying it was was "my petite ass would look better than that." She needs a little wake up call. Get over yourself!! Ah. Sorry I cursed a few too many times here, it just got me going lol.

she is stll just a font to me. and licking donuts is definitely a sign of a serial killer.

Ugh celebrities like this are just awful. There are celebrities who are legitimately talented AND nice, humble people all at once, it IS possible! I wish the media would stop giving attention to people like her and celebrate the ones who are doing some good in the world!

The media gives way too much attention to the Domestic Terrorists (i.e., mass murderers) and Narcissists, which only continues a feedback loop.

I can't stand her. I thought she was mildly humorous on Sam & Cat (I had a tweenage cousin when it was on), but her singing is like a cat screaming to me. Consonants are there for a reason! use them! Her behavior is just another reason for me to dislike her.

Thank you for this. Everyone is freaking out about the fact that she said, "I hate America." I'm not saying it's okay that she said that, but we live in America where you can say whatever you want (albeit with consequences). The real crime here is that she LICKED A DONUT that continued to sit there until SOMEONE ELSE bought and consumed it. That is absolutely revolting, IMO.

  12. July 9, 2015 / 1:03 pm

OH MY GOD….you said exactly what I was thinking! thank you!

  13. July 9, 2015 / 1:20 pm

I can honestly say I can't name one song she sings or thing she has done. I couldn't agree with you more, there are so many awesome people out there, celebrity and non-celeb status, those are the people that deserve to be talked about and looked up to!

  14. July 9, 2015 / 2:09 pm

Did you read her bogus apology? My eyes rolled so hard they fell out of my head.

  15. July 9, 2015 / 2:46 pm

Disney turns out way too many of these weirdos! I think we need to just go back to Saturday morning cartoons and be done with child celebs.

    • July 10, 2015 / 11:50 am

She was actually Nickelodeon, but your point still stands.

  16. July 9, 2015 / 2:50 pm

"Fans who see this little brat licking doughnuts and laughing like a serial killer and think, that's neat I want to be an awful person too." I just LOL'd so hard.

  17. July 9, 2015 / 3:01 pm

That doughnut place was even downgraded by the health inspector from an A to a B. She even spit on the doughnuts too. And what makes this even worse???? Someone consumed them. This makes my stomach churn. It's like you can't trust anyone now.

  18. July 9, 2015 / 3:38 pm

This reminds me too much of all of Justin Beibers horrible stories! It makes you wonder how their parents don't beat the fire out of them!

  19. July 9, 2015 / 3:44 pm

Okay the thing that gets me is she licked doughnuts behind the sales lady's back and left them. So some other person apparently ended up getting them! I mean that's disgusting. I hate that my 8 year old daughter looks up to her & have now made sure to change the station when her music comes on.

  20. July 9, 2015 / 4:06 pm

Totally agree she is a spoiled brat! That she is exactly like one of it's ridiculous dolls! She honestly is just a train wreck waiting to happen.

  21. July 9, 2015 / 5:10 pm

Her along with most celebrities nowadays get on my nerves. They think because they are celebrities they can do no wrong, they are invincible and all kinds of crap. I was literally just talking to my wife about it, saying she looks like a bratz doll I had when I was 7. She's actually pretty annoying if you ask me. Her and Bieber. Let me not start on him. I can go on for weeks.

  22. July 9, 2015 / 6:16 pm

She seems like she has an actual mental issue…like fame has turned her into a psycho!

  23. July 9, 2015 / 6:40 pm

Oh man as if I needed a reason to hate her more.

  24. July 10, 2015 / 12:00 pm

This story has been BLOWING up my twitter and facebook feeds! I can't help but watch that video from the donut shop and wanna punch her in her face. She comes off as super privelaged and fake… as you call it… a disney character!

  25. July 11, 2015 / 3:00 pm

I actually liked her at first. I still like her music and think she's very talented, but the stories of her diva behavior have just been piling up… can't really ignore it anymore. I get that she's young and under a spotlight, so she's probably going to occasionally do something not so flattering… but she just seems like a brat. Licking a doughnut is a behavior for 5-year-olds. It's sad that so many young stars just let their egos swallow them up like this.

  26. July 13, 2015 / 2:01 am

I LOVE HER. she is insanely talented but I always thought she was a brat. I have to see this video. I am fascinated by her. She is just so talented but yet SUCH a bad role model for her tween fans it's sad. I bet she will end up being a serial killer.

  27. July 14, 2015 / 8:20 pm

She's awful. I've heard so many terrible comments she's made and yet the media still portrays her like she's America's sweetheart. It's sickening really but that's the world we live in 🙁

  28. July 15, 2015 / 11:47 am

This is a hilarious post! But, I agree- licking food is rude, saying rude things is rude. I also can't believe she's OLDER than me. I thought she was seventeen. So weird.

Some 27 year olds idolize Taylor swift, a person who sues her own fans because they use Taylor's music and pictures without her permission. Yet you let her slip under the rug. Ariana made a mistake. Was it right that she licked a doughnut that she didn't pay for? No but people calling her the devil, a twat, a devil, brat or something is uncalled for. Do you really care that much? Like get over it. You have bills to be paying for. Grow up, you late 20 year old bloggers. This generation will be the most successful and is the future.
