Winter Camping

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Gander Mountain. All opinions are 100% mine.

Remember when me, Chris, and Harlow went camping this summer?

Well Chris wants to do it again. As in this winter. Like winter camping. Did you know this is a thing?

I’m not sure if I’m on board because the main part I like about camping in the summer is that is happens in the summer. You know, when it’s not freezing outside.

But I’m trying to be supportive of this interesting new idea so when Chris told me that he wants winter camping gear for Christmas I got right on it and went straight to his favorite store, Gander Mountain, to look for outdoor supplies. If he doesn’t want me complaining about being cold the entire time, I think we’re going to need a lot of new stuff.

Luckily for me, Gander Mountain, has a ton of awesome Holiday Deals going on throughout the month of December to help shoppers like me find the perfect gift for the outdoor loving people in their life. Not only will outdoor gear and necessities be on sale, but there will also be special offerings on financing and gift cards throughout the month. So I can buy a 100 new pairs of warm socks, blankets, and coats and not break the bank.

And to go along with their great holiday deals, Gander Mountain also has their new Best Price Plus program, which will guarantee in-store shoppers are receiving the best prices this season, plus a discount of 10 percent of the difference. So if I were to find a lower price on an identical in-stock item at another local retailer, Gander Mountain will match the price either at the time of purchase or within 30 days of the guest making the purchase in-store.

And to help kickstart your holiday shopping Gander Mountain is giving away a $50 gift card! What would you buy with it? Just tell me below and you could WIN!

Good luck with camping in the winter! I'm sure with all the right gear, you will be warm and cozy and have a great time! With $50 to Gander Mountain, I would definitely put that towards a better coat to keep out the cold. I'm a Texas girl going to school in the midwest and apparently my vast flannel collection won't cut it here. Darn!

Bahahaha that actually sounds so adventurous (now, I say that, but if my boyfriend asked me to do that, I have no idea how I would respond, so I'm impressed by your sheer adventurousness). To be honest, I'd probably by an extra sleeping bag for myself to walk around in while camping – not just for sleeping, in case I wasn't clear I intend to wear it like a suit all day.

  4. Winter camping? My son goes every winter at least once into the White Mountains to challenge the peaks/sleep in the freezing cold. I'd buy him some great warm socks!!

Um, I don't think I could ever do winter camping. In a million years. So good luck! And as for GM, I would start off buying some WetFire Tinder Cubes! Because now I'm cold just thinking about winter camping…

If I ever went camping, it would only be with my husband! He has everything for it including the little campfire stove. I would either give the gift card to him or use it for some new socks and gloves for the cold weather:)

I would buy a new mattress pad. Key for any successful camping trip! Or, since we'll have a new babe on board for this summer's camping adventure, I will need to buy he/she some new gear πŸ™‚

I would buy my husband a sleeping bag for Christmas! He also loves camping and insisted that we buy all the "stuff" last summer, but since it was warm out we didn't buy sleeping bags and boy was that a mistake!

Winter camping better include tons of hot coffee…scratch that, hot apple cider with Winter Jack whisky. If I had a Gander Mountain gift card I would buy as many pairs of Smart Wool socks as I could get! Those socks are the BEST!

I would put it towards a new tent. Mine is old….circa 1999. It's starting to get tiny holes. I think it is time to upgrade. :o)

I would put mine towards a new sleeping bag! For the boundary waters πŸ™‚ Looooove Gander Mountain!

Oh my, I just had the thought about winter camping the other day. I don't think I could do it…I have for hunting, but that was for food. Just to go? Ya, not feeling it.
