I get the same question all the time, is life in T-Shirt Town as glamorous as it looks?
Is it really all parties, and celebs, and champagne, and FREE t-shirts like we see on TV?
Honestly? Yes. Life in T-Shirt Town is everything and more. And today I'm probably going to spend the next ten hours there getting caught up from over the weekend. I had some big shout-outs via Instagram that caught me off guard. If you're a small business owner, never underestimate the power of Instagram.
And so today I will put on my workout headband, get back into T-Shirt Lady mode, and jump right into the pile of t-shirts to get the work done. The Universe has called me to do a task and I am answering!
I believe it was Taylor Swift who once said that each song she writes is like one of her children that she sends off into the world. Well I feel the same way about my shirts. Everyday I wrap my children in tissue paper, stuff them into a lime green package, and push them out into the world via USPS.
Did I just allude to the fact that I'm the Taylor Swift of T-Shirt town? No. But if someone else wants to make that assumption who am I to say they're wrong? We both work hard. We're both named Taylor. And we both... shake it off. Really the similarities are almost scary.
But all glitz and glamour aside, life in T-Shirt town is hard work. After five or six hours my knees start to hurt, my back cramps, and I start to question why I'm doing all of this?
Oh yes, to pay bills. And to make dreams come true.
I don't want to put the cart before the horse here because I'm not really sure how that expression works exactly, but today I'm sending a shirt to a woman on Instagram who has a blue check. She has 1.6 million followers. In T-Shirt Town, this could be a game changer.
I can't tell you who it is because I've signed a confidentiality contract. Jk, it's because I'm slightly scared she might not post a pic of the shirt after all. I know enough about this biz to know nothing is for sure. But if she does... this could be real cool for old T-Shirt Lady Taylor. Send me some good t-shirt vibes if you don't mind.
On that note, it's time to start packing. I may be snapping T-Shirt Lady diaries @thedailytay all day. I may not. We'll just have to see what happens.
