Throwing A Tantrum At The Laugh Factory

If ever there was a week I posted more photos than words this would be that week. And it’s funny because usually I’m so short on photos (unless they’re of Harlow, obviously.) I guess I’m just so excited to be having interaction with actual people during the day I feel the need to document it.

You’d think I’d be over the thrill of babies in large sunglasses by now, but I’m not. I still find it very amusing, in fact.

Wednesday evening Lola insisted on watching a little stand-up, so we took her to The Laugh Factory.

However she wasn’t technically allowed inside the club, but the people at Laugh Factory are so kind they let her in just to watch my set. I think they felt bad she came all the way from Nebraska. Or maybe they just believed me when I told them it’s perfectly normal to bring babies into bars in Nebraska and therefore Lola, at only four months, had already learned wonderful bar etiquette and wouldn’t bother anyone. It wasn’t like she was going to do something douchey like start smoking an e-cigarette or anything.

This was taken shortly before my mom started snapping photos of me talking to the door man at the Laugh Factory.

I can look back and laugh now, but because I think of comedians as “the cool kids” that I want to impress, I got incredibly embarrassed and suddenly went into total “fifteen-year-old on my first Homecoming dance” mode and threw a complete fit about her trying to sneak some photos.

And I’m about to freak out and throw a tantrum in 3, 2, 1, go!

“Goshhhhh mom, stop it! Stop taking photos! Stop it right now!!!”
In hindsight I can see I was about ten times more embarrassing than she was at that moment. I’m so annoying sometimes it’s pathetic.

After the comedy club we went out for some margaritas and nachos at a little place called “Cesars: home of the killer margarita.” But the margaritas weren’t necessarily killer per say, but the nachos definitely were.

Dinner was followed by a brief stop at Molly’s Cupcakes on the way back to my house.

As for yesterday, well the highlight was probably taking Lola to the American Girl Doll store downtown. She found an Itty Bitty doll that looked just like her and she wouldn’t take her eyes off it. It was pretty cute, and also slightly creepy.

In conclusion, life is better with family in town. That’s really all there is to it. Have a wonderful weekend!
