The Harlow Is Coming Home

Joules rain-boots can be found here. They are my new favs!

I loved all of the comments left behind on yesterday’s marriage post. As a few of you noted, to each their own. That’s pretty much the best way to sum it up. My parents got married when they were 19 and they’re still doing pretty damn good. So I think we can all agree it’s just whatever works for you. Unless of course you’re my grandma, I’m pretty certain she’s still praying for me every day to stop living in sin. I told her just to tell her friends I’m living with my “domestic partner, Chris” and we’re doing a-okay. But for some reason my conservative grandmother didn’t want to tell people that her comedian grand-daughter has a “partner” named Chris. I have no idea why…

But anyway, guess who comes home tomorrow? HARLOW! He’s been at basketball camp in Nebraska for the past two weeks while we were moving and I have missed him so badly. It’s lonely working from home when your only coworker isn’t around to bug you.

I made the mistake of not sending him to camp when we moved last time and for those of you who have moved with a dog, you can understand my pain. He was so hyper and nervous with every box I took out of the house that he almost broke through the window trying to make sure he made it in the u-haul with all of his toys. Each time I would walk in and out of the house to get a new load of stuff he would plow me over and bark in my face “DON’T FORGET ME!” As if that were ever possible.

I can’t wait for him to arrive tomorrow night and see his new house. He’s finally going to have a little space to run when he gets a sudden case of the zoomies. And of course there’s also that new back yard. Which is a little smaller than I remember it… But I’m sure Harlow won’t mind. The crazy white dog who lives above us seems to enjoy it. Yes, Harlow is going to have his first upstairs neighbor and I’m interested to see how that goes down… Harlow’s more into people than other dogs and I’ve seen this new guy outside and he looks like a maniac. He reminds me of the little white dog from the Mask because it appears he has a vertical of about 50 feet, if that gives you any sort of visual.

Anyway, because it’s sunny and 70 degrees I’m going to keep this short and sweet today. Or short and boring, you decide. Nice weather is fleeting in Chicago so I’ve got to take advantage of it when I can. Have a great Wednesday. And happy b-day to my brother Jordan!

This photo really couldn’t sum up our childhood any better.

Glad your pup is on his way home, I agree, the house gets far too quiet without them around. Also, that coat!! I love it and can't help but to ask where you got it. In Wyoming we basically wear coats year around so I'm always on the lookout for a new one (that isn't puffed up like a marshmallow) It looks so good on you! Thanks, Amy

It's from h&m like 5 years ago! It's surprisingly hung in there really well!

I laughed out loud reading the line about your grandmother not wanting to tell her friends about your domestic partner, Chris. Yay for Harlow coming home today! My dog freaks out whenever I pack a suitcase, always tosses one of her toys in and sometimes even crawls inside hoping I'll take her with me. She's small. I can imagine the sheer panic moving would cause her. Enjoy your nice sunny weather!

Oh my gosh that picture is epic!! And I can 100% relate… I've switched to working 100% at home and the hubs works late afternoon until midnight shift. So I spend a majority of my time carrying on spectacular one-sided convos with the feline and the k9. They politely put up with me. Happy Wednesday! 🙂

Aww great pic of you and Harlow! oh and you and your bro!

I think dogs do freak out because a few months ago when I moved, my dog was so freaked out he bit me! Long story but anyway, glad your Harlow will be back!

Love the look of those boots, I don't wear boots such as those but I have thought about getting a pair of rain boots for the coming winter I will have to look around and see if there are any nice looking ones around. Great that Harlow is coming home but he missed you as much as you missed him, I didn't know anyone thought of people who live together unmarried as living in sin any more that is so old fashion………….lol

Your grandma is hilarious. Can you imagine how many prayers she's sent up for you! Poor grams. Also yay for you getting Harlow back!

That last picture is too much. You look like you're staring into the eyes of a zombie, so now might be the time for your brother to use the grenade.

Also, we're about to put our house on the market and I'd like to know if your parents want to watch my four kids for a few weeks while we get things situated? That sounds dreamy. For me, I mean. Not so much for your parents. 🙂 Glad you're feeling more settled. Have fun with Harlow!
