Less Than 99 Days To Go

Today the wedding countdown is officially at 99 days.

I don’t know if it’s the fact that we registered, or that the invites are starting to go out, but we seem to have crossed this invisible line where everything just started getting a lot more intense. Time was trickling by and now I can barely keep track of my days.

I went from hardly thinking about the wedding to now it’s all I can think about. Am I becoming “that bride?” Ugh. I think so.

I’m the type of person who usually falls asleep the minute my head hits the pillow. But for the past week or so I’ve been up until 2 or 3 a.m. as my mind just go nuts. Midnight has become my favorite time to make insanely long mental to-do lists about things that DON’T MATTER. The less important the task, the more I like to think about it.

Our society has put way too much importance on weddings. And I’m buying into it. I try to stay sane, but it’s hard. It’s really hard. Because at the end of the day I want those silly floral robes for my bridesmaids, damn it. And I don’t even know why.

While I’ve taken care of a lot of the stupid shit, yesterday I realized 1. our cake person has gone MIA and we never payed a deposit so she probably took another wedding. And 2. I don’t have anyone for hair or makeup and everyone is booked.

The cake part got me a little nervous because even though Chris and I don’t love cake, apparently other people do. I suggested we just get Dilly Bars from DQ because who doesn’t love a good Dilly, you know? But no one was on board. Luckily the problem is solved because just as I’ve been writing this post Cake Lady wrote back! We’re still good to go!

Now for hair and makeup. Let me get back to you on this because I still have mixed feelings. Hair is essential I suppose, but makeup? It’s fun and it’s definitely a nice luxury, but it’s not always in the budget. Says the girl who doesn’t know how to put on makeup and yet definitely needs makeup…

Speaking of budget. I’ve become a crazy shopper about all the white outfits! I’m out of control. And it needs to stop. I’m usually very restricted about shopping and will keep myself in check, but right now I justify it in my head with that stupid notion that, you only get married oncemust have new outfits for everything.

The jeans in the pic can be found here and I just saw they’re 35% off right now so if you’re into flares, these are wonderful. They are my absolute favs, size down they run big. And the adorable white top is from my new online shop go-to, Alice & Wonder. More details on that to come.

I search every night like a crazy person for the perfect white dress, jumper, skirt, jeans, top, I NEED IT ALL.

Except I don’t. I finally ordered my rehearsal dinner dress last night so I can stop looking. Other possible white outfits that might be showing up this week include this pom pom dress, and this midi lace dress, which is probably more my style than the first option. The pom pom dress is adorable, but it seems a little too classy for me. I’m not keeping both. I need to settle down with the white shopping because photography and videography bills have to be paid.

Luckily, the Universe and @brittanyfurlan tossed me a huge bone last night with an unexpected shoutout on Instagram.

I’ve worked with some “big bloggers”  for insta promos. Most are good, some are not. But I have to say, Brittany is probably one of the nicest people to correspond with via email. She’s not a blogger, I’m just saying that especially for being a huge social celeb she’s super cool.  Occasionally people with big followings are kind of assholes. Not this girl though, so basically I’m en even bigger Brittany fan now.

Also thanks to her I will be spending my entire weekend in t-shirt town. T-Shirt Lady is breathing down my back hard already. Oh boy.

Now I have to go pick up my wedding dress for the second time. Hoping it’s finally right…

I'm getting married in august, in Denver and tried to respond to your snapchat (I swear, I'm not a creeper!). there are a lot of different hair and makeup artists throughout the city, but I'm sold on my girl, Lindsay! what's your date again? I'm happy to hook you up!

I did my own hair and make-up. The salon I typically go to for cuts did a "mock-up" of what I thought I wanted and I ended up crying the entire way home….so I just did it myself. I regret nothing! Do whatever feels right. The best part of the cake was, well, at first, we didn't get to eat any of it because the night got away from us, but the hotel coordinator snuck a couple (large) slices to our room and THANK THE LAWD ALMIGHTY because it was the only thing we ate all night!

OH yeah and I def recommend getting your makeup done for your wedding too – you don't have to worry about it smudging or smearing through tears and dranks and laughter! I do recommend you go for a trial pre-wedding though so you end up looking like yourself and not like a Toddlers and Tiara little girl or something 🙂
