Save The Date!

Save the date… we’re almost exactly six months away. Yayayaya!

Our timeline:

*Boy Meets Girl
while attending a basement Fiji party.
(VERY romantic. And very musty.)

*1st Date
El Potrero in Lincoln.
(Nine years ago this was my first “first dinner date.” And also my last “first dinner date.”)

*Lovestruck
-when they found out they both love pizza, the Rail, and dogs.
I spent many a summer night sitting at the Rail eating free Rail mix and drinking Ogres while Chris tended bar. Oh, the summer of 2009. What a time to be alive.

*She Says Yes!
-with the help of Harlow finding the ring.
A ring box covered in dog treats. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

*Save the Date
-July 23rd, 2016 Steamboat, CO.
Best. Day. Ever.

Granted we’ve been engaged for 13+ months now, but all of the sudden it’s starting to feel like it will be here very soon.

And I am so excited. Like it or not, my wedding posts may pick up a bit on here. I’ll also be adding a wedding tab up top to make me feel like I’m being productive and getting stuff done. So humor me and play along.

For those of you who have asked, our Save the Dates are from Minted. And I couldn’t be happier with the way they turned out, or with Minted in general. From start to finish, the customer service was phenomenal and the quality is top notch.

They have hundreds (probably thousands even) of designs to choose from, but as soon as I saw this one I knew we had to have it. I liked customizing it and adding our own little timeline/story. It just feels like us.

And don’t even get me started on their wedding invites. They are all gorgeous! Right now you can get 20% off using the code WEDDING20, but hurry because it ends Monday!

And slowly but surely it’s all coming together. We’re making a trip to Steamboat next month to taste food and cake and all of that other weird stuff you’re supposed to do. I honestly don’t care about the main courses, I just want to make sure the apps are good and hot dog machine is working. I’ve got my priorities.

Ready or not, wedding season is coming! If you have any planning advice for being six months out, do share!

Weddings! Weddings are the best. I love the Save the Date card too – can I pretend I'm getting married and order a bunch of cards? That's not crazy, right?

I'm obsessed with cute wedding posts, and they're even better if Harlow is in there somehow. Harlow is going to be in your wedding. . . right?

Very cute save the dates! I got married in October and have a wedding bloopers post scheduled for tomorrow which you may or may not want to read depending on your level of anxiety regarding the big day! Haha but seriously, our wedding day was perfect regardless and I want to do it all over again!

I'm excited for you! Apps are honestly the best part of any event lol when I was at my cousin's wedding, I gorged myself on apps and forgot about the main course entirely! Hot dog machine?! Man, sounds like a wedding to rival all weddings!

It's an exciting time but it can also be stressful–if you start to get overwhelmed, take a weekend off from doing anything wedding planning and do the things you love to do!

Lol I love the lovestruck part. I know I don't "know" you but this seems very "you." if you know what I mean lol. And the picture is perfect. It doesn't look overly fakey romantic. I say post all you want about your wedding because it's your life and your blog and you will be the one who reads them back one day when you're 80 years old. That's my motto at least lol.

These are so adorable! I love the timeline on the bottom of them.

I love your Save the Date cards & I love Minted too! When I got married, I found a website via Pinterest on what you should do every month before your wedding. It went by how long you were engaged (ex: 3 years, 1 year, 6 months, etc.). I found the time frame that was (approximately) ours & wrote everything it said to do in my wedding planning notebook. And then I just checked stuff off as I did it monthly. It made everything so much easier. And plus, I'm really big into the whole "checking things off my list" so that made me feel a lot better about life too haha.

I started getting stressed (and I didn't even know it) about 2-3 months before the wedding. It came to a head about 2 weeks before. Could have been my own circumstances/personality but I'd just say take things one step at a time and don't worry about making everyone happy. I also thought The Knot's checklist on their app was incredibly helpful for making sure I was on track!

    Congratulations! Happy planning!
