For those of you who aren’t social media obsessed, Instagram announced a few weeks ago it’s going to be making some big changes to the way you see photos in your feed.
It will no longer be the most recent posted photos at the top, but instead will have more to do which photos are the most popular. With that being said, here’s a few very important things you need to know about the new changes and furthermore, why it’s ESSENTIAL you turn on post notifications for your favorite instagrammers.
This is what I know. If you don’t turn on notifications:
1. You will die.
I know this sounds extreme and it’s still up for debate whether it’s just a rumor, but I’ve had good sources tell me your head will actually explode if you don’t do what everyone is telling you to do.
2. Your dogs will get sick.
Again, sounds weird to me as well, but I’m just telling you what I’ve heard.
3. You won’t get to see 100 bloggers in your feed wearing the colorful tassel purse.
What kind of life is that WHAT?!? And I don’t care if everyone has that clutch, I LOVE it. There I said it and I don’t regret it. It’s sold out everywhere, but you can find a similar here or here.
4. You will miss colorful wall photos.
And no one wants to miss a colorful photo.
5. You might miss donut pics.
Granted you could catch one a few days later, or even from the next blogger on your feed on any given day. BUT STILL. Are you willing to take that risk? ARE YOU?
6. You might lose touch with the people you really care about.
On social media.
7. The amount of bloggers sitting on floors taking photos of their legs will significantly decrease.
I’m just talking to myself here. We all know these are my go-tos.
7. You won’t know what nail color is currently in style.
White or off white?
8. You might miss out on flower photos.
And eventually you may just forget what flowers even look like. Again, can you take that risk?
9. Your feed will now only show posts of all the “famous dogs” you follow.
Which actually sounds AWESOME.
10. Life might just go on like normal…. Or maybe it won’t.
I guess the joke will be on me tomorrow when it’s just my mom and myself liking my pics. Time will tell.

haaaaaa! i mean, the sheer panic is just ridiculous. it sucks and it's stupid (i personally want to see things in chronological order) but what am i gonna do? it's not the end of the world and i'll still continue to post over-filtered beach & city pics even if four people see them. everyone needs to reeeeeeeeeeeeeeelax.
I mean, I guess I just really need Instagram to clarify something for me… Will Instagram pics that feature a white background automatically be considered most popular and therefore at the top of my feed? Or do I need to do something special to make sure the first photos I see have the white background. I prefer to surround myself by all things trendy. Helps me stay cool & young and not succumb to FOMO.

Haha this is everything! But really, will I see trendy planners with fabulous handwriting and an Anthro mug filled with coffee every morning? I really can't start my day with out those first!
You know what confuses me? Everyone has the arrow in their "turn on notifications" pics pointing to the upper right hand corner. Maybe my insta is different but the three dots everyone is referring to are in the bottom right. So it makes all those posts doubly irritating!
I'm curious to see what happens with the changes. For now I'm not stressing.

Lol, its funny, they are not even changing it now, according to their twitter, so everyone freaked out for nothing lol. So for now, I can still drool over pictures of donut 😀
Ugh. Seriously. I'm so sick of this Instagram thing. I mean, I'm annoyed that they're making these changes, but also, I know how to unfollow people. So if I'm seeing only certain grammers that I don't particularly care about, I'm probably going to unfollow them so that they aren't on top of my feed anymore.
haha! I admit I got a bit too overdramatic when I found out about the changes. It made me feel like Robin Hood, wanting to go in and steal from the rich (people with a million likes) and give to the poor (me), but I doubt anything that different will come from the change. We'll see. It might just be the end of the world after all.

I actually unfollowed a few people because they were going nuts over the "changes". It's as if their life revolved around Instagram. so sad!
I am a living testimony to the fact that you will not die. Okay, maybe it did hurt a little. I'm just kidding, because I have no idea what all of the fuss is about! I am too impatient to scroll around in Instagram for too long anyways. I usually end up looking people up by their names. But everyone was telling me to turn on my notifications. You can't tell me what to do Insta, you're not the boss of me! Twitter is.
